Sixways chief hails Open Day backing

Huge crowds gathered to watch police dog demonstrations, youngsters climbed the adventure wall or played laser shooting in the West Stand car park and spectators were treated to an American Football demonstration on an action-packed day at Warriors.

The new-look Warriors then completed the day with a nine-try victory over Stourbridge Saxons and Hill was delighted with the response from fans throughout the entire Open Day.

“I really enjoyed the Open Day,” said Hill. “The players had a huge queue for autographs in the Indoor Centre and I think even they were surprised with the numbers that turned up despite the weather conditions.

“I was surprised and delighted by the crowd. To get that number for a pre-season game against Stourbridge was just amazing.

“The players had a really warm reception when they came out – that must have given them a lift too.

“I could sense the crowd support was good throughout the morning and the entire whole day.

“We had a really good response and if we can get that for a pre-season game then we can really look to get this place full for the league season.”
