Goode and Williams set for Titans test

Head Coach Richard Hill has revealed he is set to change his half back pairing for the crunch Championship clash with Rotherham Titans at Sixways – with England star Andy Goode and Welsh wonder Andy Williams set to start a first league game of the season on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Goode and Williams impressed off the bench against Plymouth Albion to help inspire Warriors to a 26-19 success at Brickfields.

Hill indicated after the game in Devon that the duo were pushing for selection against Rotherham and has again suggested the double change could happen just days before the clash with the unbeaten Titans.

“Players like Andy Williams and Andy Goode could start at half back after two good games being introduced form the bench. It is their time to start,” he said

“I felt Jonny Arr and Joe Carlisle did well at Plymouth and they would have learnt a lot from that game against a drift defence. They will be better for that experience.

“Tevita Taumopeau will miss the game as he has a family weekend and at this stage of the season I can let him go, later on it might be a different matter. Adam Black will come into the 22.

“Pat Sanderson will miss the game although he is almost there. He has not trained with the group yet and is unlikely to be involved against Esher, but he should be back the week after that having cracked a rib.”
