Call for big Friday night atmosphere

Richard Hill has called on the Sixways faithful to crank up the volume in the next three Friday night games at Sixways – revealing how he used to dislike coming to Warriors with other clubs because of the cauldron of atmosphere!

Warriors face Bristol Rugby this Friday (kick-off 8pm) in the first of a three huge Friday night games in October at Sixways Stadium.

And Hill is keen for a big crowd to descend on Sixways and really great a special atmosphere as Worcester look to defend an unbeaten RFU Championship record.

He said: “Three out of our next four games are all here under lights and I personally love Friday night games. It generates a fantastic atmosphere and the game always looks quicker and more ferocious under lights.

“I must admit, a few years ago when I was with another club, coming here on a Friday night was a most unpleasant experience.

“Ticket sales have been good and we want more and more to come in. A lot of Bristolians I know are coming up, so it will be a big crowd and an exciting atmosphere.”

“I named the team on Monday morning and it will be announced to the fans on Thursday,” added Hill.

“After six games, Phil Davies and I have sat down and worked out what we think is our best 22 on current form.

“I'm going to start to keep that selection a little bit more stable now to allow the players to get more used to each other and the game-plan.

“After these five big games, there'll be another round of rotation to give players a second chance to get in there then, after another six games, we can have another look at what is our best 22 at that stage.”

Tickets remain on sale to watch the Friday Night Fever at Sixways as Warriors tackle Bristol Rugby. Call the Warriors Box Office on 01905 454183 or click HERE for more information.
