Richard Hill admits he expects a ‘fiesty’ encounter as Worcester Warriors travel to Doncaster Knights for a rearranged RFU Championship clash tomorrow night (Wednesday) at Castle Park (kick-off 7.30pm).
A late minute penalty from Andy Goode handed Worcester a narrow 30-28 victory when the two teams met at Sixways earlier in the season.
Head Coach Hill expects an equally testing game up north when the teams lock horns again, but believes the consistency in team selection can now start to bring the best out of his Warriors.
“Doncaster offer threats in attack and they will be feisty up at Castle Park,” he said. “They gave us a very good run here at Sixways when we won with the very last kick of the game, we were fortunate to win that game.
“They have good coaches, are well drilled, well organised and have good forward power with some quality outside. I expect they will pose more threats than Rotherham did to us.”
He added: “I am gradually organising my 22 for the play offs and this starting 15 is pretty close to it, subject to form.
“We are in a period when I will keep some consistency in selection. The squad that faces Doncaster will more than likely also face Moseley on Boxing Day.
“Some people will say you should know your best 15 by now, but there are people putting real pressure on that selection.
“We have Andy Goode at 10, but Joe Carlisle is playing outstandingly well at fly half as well. I am being given a headache by the way people are performing.
“But it gets to a stage when I have to plumb for a 15 and get some consistency of selection. That will change I am certain, through loss of form or someone playing really well.
“I can’t keep chopping and changing and there will be two 15s, if you like, there will be some disappointed people but there is still a long way to go and people can force their way in.”
