Grove called up for RBS 6 Nations

Worcester Warriors centre Alex Grove has today been named by Head Coach Andy Robinson in his Scotland squad for the 2011 RBS 6 Nations Championship.

Grove is named in a 34-strong squad that will convene at St Andrews for a three-day camp next week to begin preparations for the opening match in the championship – away to reigning champions France on Saturday, February 5.

Robinson said: “There’s always excitement in the air at this time of year as we look forward to the RBS 6 Nations Championship.

“Selection reflects both current form and the performances of a number of players during our matches in the autumn.”

Some players from the Scotland squad will be part of the Scotland A team who play their Irish counterparts, the Irish Wolfhounds, at Netherdale, Galashiels next Friday (28 January) with a 7.30pm kick-off.

An announcement on players who will join up with the A squad will be made early next week.
