Richard Hill was delighted with the manner of the six-try victory over Nottingham Rugby – but insisted there was still much more to come from his Warriors as they build towards the RFU Championship play-offs.
Head Coach Hill watched on as Warriors secured a bonus point just minutes into the second half at Meadow Lane on Sunday to move 20 points clear of Bedford Blues at the top of the table.
However, three late tries from free running Nottingham left Hill wanting more from his men and he admitted the team was yet to produce the complete display he craves.
And Hill warned that the opposition would only get better and raise their game come the play-off stages.
He said: “We are moving nicely and building. There have been some good performances – but we are not there yet. We are not an 80-minute team yet.
“We had 60 minutes against Pirates and 60 minutes here, we have got to wait for that complete display.
“There is no point playing your best rugby at the start of February. The big games come in March, April and May. We need to gain momentum and confidence, to know we can go to any side and win.
“In the play-offs, a lot of other players will be looked at by Premiership clubs,” added Hill “They want to make an impression and they are fighting for contracts at other clubs.
“The play-offs are a shop window and we have got to understand that, other teams will raise their game. Nottingham will be better when we come here again, players will be playing out of their skins to get a nice lucrative contract with a Premiership club.
“We have got to raise our levels and making sure we peak. At the moment, I sense we are heading the right way.”
