Head Coach Richard Hill has revealed he lining up moves for five stars from the RFU Championship – but is remaining tight-lipped over the identity of any potential new faces at Sixways.
Hill and his coaching team remain focused on the task in hand as Warriors prepare to face Bristol in the play-offs at the Memorial Stadium this Sunday (kick-off 1pm).
However, he admits the make-up of his squad for next season is also taking shape behind the scenes and he is keen to give those that have impressed him in the league a chance at Warriors.
“I would guess around five RFU Championship players could come into the club next year, those who I rate highly,” he said.
“I think a lot of players in the RFU Championship would be able to play in the Premiership. I have seen some top-fight players and, quite frankly, there are better players in the second tier. It’s not until you are in this league that you realise just how good some of the players are.
“They may not all be front line players, but it is for that back-up route where you want some young talented players that are raw and can be coached and become better players.
“That is the key – to find players with the raw talent and right attitude. They want to be involved in a big club like Worcester and prove they can do it.
“I have potentially five very keen, young, hungry youngsters who will come here. However, it is sensitive at the moment and we may be playing against one or two in these play-offs, for their sake it is best to keep it quiet for now.”
