Hill senses excitement building in city

Head Coach Richard Hill admits he can sense the excitement growing around the city as Worcester Warriors prepare for a crunch month in the RFU Championship play-offs.

Worcester face Bristol Rugby in the final game of Pool A on Saturday at Sixways (kick-off 3pm) with the biggest crowd of the play-offs set to descend on the home of the Warriors.

The Warriors Box Office has also been busy this week with Season Ticket and Debenture holders buying semi-final tickets for the big showdown against either Doncaster Knights or Bedford Blues on Sunday, May 1.

Semi-final tickets will go on General Sale from this Saturday after the game with Bristol and Hill believes the interest is now starting to gather pace as play-off fever slowly begins to grip the city.

“It has been a strange and long season, but I really sense excitement building for this game and the semi-final,” said Hill.

“The staff have been working hard to get people in for these games and we will get a good crowd in on Saturday because the interest has been huge.

“Tickets for the semi-final are also selling very quickly so clearly the Worcester public understand we are coming to the crucial end of the season.

“They are getting excited, the players are getting excited and we want to savour the atmosphere of a massive crowd on Saturday. That will give us a taste for the semi-final and hopefully the final when I would love to see big numbers in making themselves heard.”

Meanwhile, Hill admits he does not mind who Warriors face in the final four as both Doncaster Knights and Bedford Blues chase the final spot this Saturday afternoon.

“We can’t be worried about anybody we might face,” he said. “With the squad we have got we don’t need to worry about who we are facing, it doesn’t matter if we are home or away but we really wanted a home tie for the fans.

“We should be good enough to beat any team home or away and we haven’t lost away from home this season so playing away from Sixways doesn’t worry us either.”

Join a big crowd at Sixways this Saturday for the visit of Bristol (kick-off 3pm) as the season starts to reach a thrilling conclusion. Call the Warriors Box Office on 01905 454183 or click HERE to buy your seat online.
