Boss hopeful over duo fitness race

Head Coach Richard Hill has revealed that star duo Matt Mullan and Matt Kvesic could give the club a double fitness boost ahead of the Aviva Premiership clash with Leicester Tigers on December 27.

It was originally feared that both players could miss the sold out clash at the home of the Warriors over Christmas.

But now Hill has admitted both are scheduled to return to training in the coming days as they step up bids for a return to action.

“Both are convinced they will be available for selection for Leicester. They will train with us from Monday, which will help,” said Hill.

“Kvesic’s ankle is feeling good. We all thought it was a bad break when it happened at Exeter, there was a loud crack, but fortunately he is okay and looking to train.

“Mullan’s shoulder has settled down and he is confident he will be okay. He has got to be right because he could face some big impacts against the likes of Martin Castrogiovanni or Dan Cole.

“That is good news, if they can both make the game that will really help us. George Porter and Oliver Tomaszczyk are also back so we two other props back and so things are more healthy.”
