Supporters urged to park legally

Supporters visiting Sixways are reminded to please park safely and sensibly on match days.

A minority of fans and visiting supporters have this season parked their vehicles in prohibited areas around the stadium complex and so the club is now working closely with the local police force to ensure all visitors park in safe and designated areas.

Vehicles are being parked illegally on roads and verges along the A4538 Pershore Lane, Warriors Way, and parts of Offerton Lane. These routes are covered under a Rural Clearway Order which means the Police are not required to place cones on these routes in order to issue tickets for parking offences. Officers patrol these routes on match days and anyone found parking on roads covered by Clearway Orders will receive a non-endorsable fixed penalty fine of £30.

Illegal parking also causes concern for the club and the Worcestershire Safety Advisory Group because it encourages people to cross Pershore Lane on foot, thus putting themselves and others at risk.

Charlie Little, Managing Director at Warriors, said: “The safety of our supporters, in getting to and from the stadium, is of great importance to us, particularly after games when the volume of traffic is at its greatest.

“We would encourage fans to use the parking facilities on site when possible or use other travel options that we have put in place to ensure they arrive at Sixways on match days in a safe fashion.”
