Coach praise for ‘remarkable’ supporters

Head Coach Richard Hill paid special tribute to the ‘remarkable’ home supporters at Sixways as they braved freezing temperatures and torrential snow to back the Warriors in the LV= Cup finale.

A healthy crowd of 5,856 wrapped up and got right behind the team as Warriors secured a 24-14 win over Ospreys.

Afterwards Hill made special mention of the crowd who had turned up in big numbers despite the game being on the opening weekend of the Six Nations.

“The crowd was absolutely brilliant – they must be mad,” laughed Hill.

“It was remarkable and they were really vocal as well. I was really delighted and the crowd was superb.

“The Ospreys couldn’t believe there were that many people to watch an LV= Cup when there was no semi-final place up for grabs.

“What a fantastic turnout there was for the players and it made for a really great atmosphere.

“I have enjoyed this competition and we have tried to do the very best we can,” added Hill as he reflected on the pool stages.

“We have had some good rugby and one or two players who would normally not get an opportunity at that level have featured.
