This season, Aviva has partnered with the University of Bath to scientifically investigate which Aviva Premiership club has the league’s most passionate rugby fans, and settle the debate once and for all!
The research team will finish their season long project at the Warriors clash v Exeter Chiefs on Saturday 14 April, where they will collect psychological and physiological data from 15 of our most passionate supporters during the match.
The scientists have devised an equation for passion, which is calculated from a range of tests taken on the day. They include the fan's commitment to the team, their preview and evaluation of the match, their mood and anxiety levels, and their hormone and heart rate changes.
The stats of our fans will compared to Chiefs fans, and plotted into the Aviva Premiership Rugby Passion league table which will be published at the end of the season – which Gloucester currently top.
