Head Coach Richard Hill highlighted the standout performances of centre Ravai Fatiaki and wing Josh Drauniniu after defeat to Northampton Saints.
Speedster Drauniniu started only his second league game for the club and impressed with breath-taking second half break and first half try.
Fataki was given his full league debut at inside centre and proved a constant threat with his hard-running style and big tackling.
Hill was pleased with the duo and hoped they could now use the performance to kick-on next season and really compete for starting places.
“Josh can attack – there is no doubt about that,” said Hill. “I don’t think there is any better person in the Aviva Premiership that can beat people one-on-one with a side step left or right.
“The defence has got to be sorted out and he knows that. That is the big work on for him, but in attack he is special.
“We hope that he can really work on that aspect of his game and really challenge for a place next year.
“I thought Ravai at 12 looked very good,” he added. “He loves carrying and we wanted to send him down the (Stephen) Myler channel and he went down there with a smile on his face at times.
“The first try came after he bowled over Myler and he looked good for me. He had a really good battle with (George) Pisi and I think they were trying to smash each other which was great to see.
“Seeing people like him and Josh step up is very encouraging for the future.”
