An Evening with Joe Calzaghe at Sixways!

Legendary boxing champion Joe Calzaghe CBE, MBE will be appearing at a special one-night only event at the home of the Warriors on Friday, September 21!

Prior to retirement in February 2009, Calzaghe was Britain’s only undefeated boxing world champion. He was the longest-reigning boxing world champion of the modern era with a fight record of 46-0, 32 of which were by TKO.

The former Ring Magazine Light-Heavyweight Champion, as well as former WBO, WBA, WBC, IBF, The Ring Magazine and the British super middleweight champion, Calzaghe held the WBO super-middleweight title for over ten years until he relinquished the title to concentrate on fighting at light-heavyweight. He holds notable wins over Chris Eubank, Jeff Lacy, Mikkel Kessler, Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr.

In 2003 Calzaghe was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List, and was further rewarded with a CBE in 2008. In 2007 Calzaghe also became BBC Sports Personality of the Year, making him the first Welsh winner of this award since show jumper David Broome in 1960.

The special night at Sixways will be hosted by the legend that is Jonny Nelson and includes a three-course meal and comedian Brian Sharpe. Dress code is black-tie and there will also be photo opportunities on the evening with Calzaghe.
