Warriors Head Coach Richard Hill admits his side will need to be on top of their game to get a positive result against Leicester Tigers on Saturday.
Warriors travel to Welford Road to take on last season’s Aviva Premiership runner-up and Hill is adamant that his side can defy the odds and get a result.
He said: “Leicester is never an easy place to go. A lot of teams will be beaten before they walk onto the pitch and we must go there believing we can win.
“The Bath result last weekend left a bad taste in our mouth and we have to put that right so we’ll go to Leicester and try and have a good performance.”
Hill singled out fly half Toby Flood as one of the players who could make a real difference for Leicester and he has warned his side to be wary of the threat posed by the England player.
“Toby is a world-class number 10. When he last played against us down here he found quite a few holes between our defence,” said Hill.
“He’s one of the best at spotting gaps and, if he sees them, he will exploit them. He’s exceptionally talented, he can bring the big runners into play and that’s where they really tick.”
Hill believes Leicester will have a similar set-up to the one they had last season, which ended in defeat to Harlequins in the Aviva Premiership final.
He said: “After watching them in pre-season and against London Welsh last Sunday, they don’t appear to have changed much.
“They’re still very powerful, they rely on a big pack of forwards, they scrum well, they line-out drive well and they do the basics very well.
“They don’t have exceptionally complicated moves in their repertoire but they are very efficient and the big carriers in their team are still Thomas Waldrom and Manusomoa Tuilagi. They are both big men who will be difficult to stop.”
Hill will select a similar team to the one he selected against Bath Rugby on the opening day and is still waiting for his injured players to return to fitness.
He added: “At the moment there’s not too many options because we have 24 fit players so we can’t really change anything.
“There will be one or two players coming back from injury soon but I’m very happy with the players I have at the moment.”
