Coach Nigel Redman admitted a lack of accuracy at crucial times cost Warriors as they lost 28-19 to London Wasps – but praised the effort and endeavour of his young guns in the LV= Cup.
Alex Grove, Andy Short and Ben Howard grabbed tries at Adams Park as Warriors left empty handed but remained top of Pool 2.
Redman said: “I thought we played with a lot of endeavour, but we lacked the accuracy. We were back to the first half against Scarlets, but for 80 minutes.
“When things started to go right and we needed consistency, but there was a lack of accuracy.
“A lot of youngsters were out there for both teams, looking to stake a claim, and we saw three tries apiece. There was plenty of endeavour from both sides.
“Tommy Bell was accurate with the boot from out wide and that was probably the difference between the teams.
“In terms of the accuracy, the lineout in particular in the first half saw is getting players up and it was either someone missing the lift or the jumper. Those things we can rectify them, but it is very frustrating watching it.
“I can’t fault the effort from both teams, to score six tries, but when it came down to kickers I thought Tommy Bell had a great game.”
