James Percival believes his side can continue to be an attacking force in the Aviva Premiership after Warriors scored their 20th try of the campaign against Leicester Tigers.
Warriors are the second-highest try scorers in the bottom half of the table and, according to the lock, there’s more to come from Richard Hill’s men.
He said: “We’ve been scoring tries and we want to continue that for the rest of the season. As a team we want to be a threat every time we attack.
“Last season we scored 23 tries and we’ve already got 20 this campaign so it shows we’re moving in the right direction.”
Percival and his teammates dominated the first-half of Friday night’s clash with Leicester, but a late comeback and last-minute penalty try for the visitors meant Warriors went down to their first home defeat since the opening day of the season.
“We were all gutted with the penalty try at the end but we will take a lot of positives. Our first-half performance was the best we have played all season,” continued Percival.
“The ball was a bit greasy and the pitch was boggy but we still managed to play rugby and we were an attacking threat throughout. Josh Drauniniu and David Lemi were a constant menace.”
The 29-year-old also admits he is impressed by the level of competition for places Warriors now have.
He added: “We’re starting to get the squad now. Against Leicester, Neil Best and Matt Mullan both came off the bench and they’re internationals.
“We’ve got the back-up there and we want to be playing in the Heineken Cup against the likes of Leinster next season.”
