Murray named in Scotland training squad

Worcester Warriors prop Euan Murray has today (Monday) been named in the Scotland squad ahead of the RBS 6 Nations Championship.

The prop is part of a 35-man squad, which includes ten uncapped players, scheduled to meet in Glasgow next Sunday for a three-day training camp.

Interim head coach Scott Johnson said: “We’ve chosen this squad with two parameters uppermost in our minds: current form and looking to the future.

“Where two players have been vying for the one spot in areas such as the back-row, we’ve gone with the form option.

“This squad is for our training camp in Glasgow next week and we still have the option to add to it for the Six Nations.”

Nineteen of the players in the squad are from Glasgow Warriors, who currently sit in second place in the RaboDirect PRO12 league.

Murray joined Warriors from Newcastle Falcons in November after spending the first part of the season on loan at Agen in France.

Since making his debut in November’s narrow defeat at Harlequins, he has gone on to make six appearances for the club.
