Head Coach delighted by galvanised Warriors

Richard Hill has pinpointed a sense of determination and togetherness within the Warriors squad to produce a big performance against Northampton Saints in the Aviva Premiership on Saturday at Sixways (kick-off 3pm).

Hill has reflected on the Bath defeat admitting he was left bitterly disappointed by the final result and has called for a big response from his players.

The Head Coach acknowledged that Worcester have to return to the form they produced when they pushed Leicester Tigers all the way in the last league game at Sixways.

And he has been boosted by the news Scotland international prop Euan Murray is back with the Warriors following his RBS 6 Nations exploits and is ready to be pitched straight into battle.

“The defeat at Bath last Saturday hurt everybody, but the players have got together and realised they need to respond in the right manner,” he said.

“If anything the result at The Rec has made training more intense, the players work even harder and the attitude absolutely spot on. To every player’s credit, they have come in this week galvanised, determined and together.

“We were disappointed with the Bath game as our accuracy wasn’t there on the day,” he added.

“The final result was hard to take, but we cannot dwell on it and, ultimately, we have got to make our own luck. We’ve approached this week with that attitude – to make things happen and be clinical.

“We were missing some big players at The Rec, although those that came in did exceptionally well. However, Euan Murray is back from Scotland duty and in contention so that is a boost for us.”
