You can support by making a donation to one of the HITZ Programme Ambassadors who are collecting today, making a text donation by texting NOSE99 £5 to 70070 or visiting HERE to bid on our Red Nose Day Ebay auction. There are some great Premiership Rugby items up for grabs.

Comic Relief works tirelessly to support some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people in the UK and around the world striving towards a just world free from poverty. The charity aims to bring about real and lasting change by tackling the root causes of poverty and social injustice, rather than simply treating the symptoms. When people are given the chance to live their lives with dignity, they invariably grab it with both hands.

The work Comic Relief funds in the UK includes the Premiership Rugby HITZ Programme which runs sessions in the heart of the toughest inner city areas, turning around the lives of young people at risk of anti-social behavior and exclusion from school.

More than 1.2 million young people in the UK are not in full-time education – almost one fifth of all those living in the UK. HITZ works to initiate behaviour change and foster confidence in disenfranchised young people aged 11 to 19 from challenging backgrounds; encouraging them to remain in or re-enter education, undertake apprenticeships or vocational training and enter paid employment.

“I truly believe if it wasn't for the HITZ rugby project I would have been in either jail somewhere or dead.”

Dan Chinsman, 17 – HITZ Participant, Southwark
