Worcester wing Nikki Walker is one of 13 additional players that have been called up to join the Scotland squad in preparation for Sunday’s RBS 6 Nations Championship match against Ireland at Murrayfield.
Walker is joined by Jon Welsh, Dougie Hall, Tom Ryder, John Barclay (all Glasgow Warriors), Alasdair Dickinson and Richie Vernon (Sale Sharks) and Grant Gilchrist (Edinburgh Rugby), Sean Kennedy, Alex Dunbar, Peter Horne, Peter Murchie (all Glasgow Warriors) and Tom Heathcote (Bath Rugby).
The only absentee from the 23 on duty in the victory against Italy nine days ago is Worcester prop Euan Murray who is unavailable for round three of the RBS 6 Nations for reasons of his Christian faith. Murray will remain with Warriors in preparation for the Aviva Premiership fixture with Gloucester Rugby.
The Scotland team to play Ireland is due to be announced on Wednesday.
