Big Ben enjoying his time at Warriors

Sixways starlet Ben Howard cannot wait to continue his development at Warriors after agreeing a new deal – admitting he has come on a huge amount in the last 12 months.

England Under-20 ace Howard, who has made seven senior appearances for the club since his league debut against Leicester Tigers in September, has been described by boss Richard Hill as one of the finds of the season.

The talented back, who can operate on the wing or at full back, has been delighted by his own progress at Warriors and is now looking forward to the future.

“Obviously it’s been great for me at Worcester. As a young player I’ve been given everything I need from the physios and strength and conditioning to the coaching as well,” he said.

“I’ve certainly developed since coming to Worcester. I’m pretty much unrecognisable from the player I was when I came last year.

“I think you’ve seen over the years that Sixways has been a great place for young players to be especially when making that step up from Academy to first-team.

“Gary Meechan’s been great with me last year and this year as well helping out on my skills, as he has done with many guys over the years. I think the set-up here is brilliant.

“The coaching I’ve had has been great and has helped me improve. And obviously when you get out there and play the Sixways crowd are great and always behind the team.”
