Allianz Park trip excites giant number eight

Semisi Taulava admits he is looking forward to facing Saracens at their new Allianz Park stadium when the two sides go head-to-head this weekend.

Warriors travel to Saracens’ new home for the first time on Sunday and the giant number eight is expecting a tough game on the 4G surface.

He said: “This will be the first time that we’ve played on the 4G surface so it will be interesting to see what all the fuss is about.

“They haven’t lost there yet so we’ll have nothing to lose and everyone is buzzing to go down there and put in a good performance.”

Saracens have stormed to the top of the Aviva Premiership after winning 15 of their 19 games this season.

Richard Hill’s men inflicted one of only three defeats on the London side back in November when they visited Sixways and, according to Taulava, his side must believe they can do the same again.

He continued: “It’s just another game and we need to go out with the mentality that we’re good enough to beat them.

“We’ll go down there, put our best foot forward and focus on putting in a good performance. It will be dry and we’ll be able to attack so hopefully it will be a good game.”

Taulava started his first game for nearly three months after returning from injury against Exeter Chiefs last time out.

And he is now determined to finish on a high and build for the next campaign.

He added: “Since I’ve come back into the side, I’ve noticed that the team has progressed and we’re trying to play attacking rugby.

“For me, it’s just about getting back out there, doing the things I’m good at and hopefully helping the team build a good run.

“I am looking forward to next season. I’ve had one year in the Premiership now and I want to have a big year next season.”
