Assistant Head Coach Nigel Redman admits the opportunity to pick-up an away victory on the final day of the season has given the Warriors players extra motivation this week.
Warriors travel to the Kassam Stadium in Oxford to face London Welsh and, according to Redman, victory would give the side a clean slate going into pre-season.
He said: “A win on Saturday allows you the luxury of going into pre-season knowing you’ve finished on a high. And it would mean we have secured that away victory so there is a lot riding on the game.
“I asked the players earlier this week about motivation and they’re all motivated in different ways. For some players it’s an opportunity to impress the new director of rugby, for others it will be their last game.
“We also have the opportunity to finish the season with more points than we did last season and in a higher position so that means the players are hungry to win.”
Despite London Welsh having already been relegated, Lyn Jones’ side have impressed many experts this season with their adventurous playing style.
They recorded victories over Exeter Chiefs, Sale Sharks, Bath Rugby and London Irish but have faced an uphill battle to avoid the drop since being deducted five points in March.
And with three of their victories coming at the Kassam Stadium, Redman knows that Warriors must be on top of their game if they are to end the season on a high.
He continued: “It will be a competitive game so our players will need to perform well. As a professional player you have to overcome the surroundings and the away supporters.
“We’ve had some close encounters at Wasps, Harlequins and Gloucester. Even in the game at Franklin’s Gardens against Northampton we scored four tries in the second-half and finished within seven points.
“We’ve knocked on the doors a few times and it’s about time we actually got over that threshold.”
