Warriors stars to adorn the Gold ‘n’ Blue again

A select few of Worcester Warriors’ greatest ever players are set to pull on the famous Gold ‘n’ Blue jersey once more when they participate in a Legends tournament next weekend (Saturday, July 13).

Much to the delight of Worcester fans, the likes of international trio Shaun Perry, Thinus Delport and Craig Chalmers will all dusting off their boots, popping in their gum shields and taking to the field for charity.

The former stars of Sixways will be competing with other Aviva Premiership old boys in the tournament, including Saracens and Leicester Tigers, in aid of the charity Restart that is tailored at helping players whose careers have been cut short through injury or illness.

The tournament is scheduled to take place at Wimbledon RFC’s home ground, Beverley Meads, and provides fans with the chance to meet and watch some of their favourite players back in action.

The occasion promises to be a good day out for anyone and fun for all the family, not just rugby fanatics, as there is live music and a headline concert including acclaimed reggae-pop band UB40 as well as kids’ activities led by entertainers Dazzle and Fizz.

All money that is raised from the event is in aid of a good cause and will go straight to the official charity, Restart. Ticket prices vary; Adult-£35, Family (two adults and two children) – £70
