Trio of Worcester games live on BT Sport

Worcester Warriors will feature on BT Sport on three occasions in the opening weeks of the new top-flight season – with the television cameras twice opting to pick Sixways to beam live Aviva Premiership rugby around the world.

BT Sport has today announced its broadcast picks for the opening seven rounds of the league season and Warriors will take centre-stage on the very opening weekend against the champions.

Worcester’s trip to Welford Road to face Leicester Tigers will be the first televised game on a Sunday this season as the fixture takes place at Welford Road on September 8 (kick-off 2pm).

Friday night rugby has always created a special and exciting atmosphere under the lights at the home of the Warriors and two of our home fixtures in the opening seven weeks have now been selected by BT Sport to eb played out in front of the cameras.

The home clash with Harlequins will take place on Friday, September 20 (kick-off 7.45pm) and the visit of Bath Rugby will be played on Friday, November 1 (kick-off 7.45pm).

Simon Green, Head of BT Sport, said: “BT Sport is the new home of club rugby and we’ll be broadcasting 69 live and exclusive Aviva Premiership Rugby games across the season.  Friday night’s coverage will be anchored live from the grounds with games broadcast live on a Saturday and Sunday from the BT Sport Studio.”

“We have a fantastic rugby team in place.  Hosted by Craig Doyle, commentary will be provided by Nick Mullins and Alastair Eykyn who will be joined by BT Sport rugby experts, Lawrence Dallaglio, Ben Kay, Matt Dawson and Austin Healey. Reporting duties fall to Sarra Elgan and Martin Bayfield.

“I’m also delighted to announce a new Wednesday night show, Rugby Tonight, which will be hosted by Matt Dawson, Craig Doyle, Martin Bayfield and Sarra Elgan, which will offer a mixture of rugby analysis, debate and lively entertainment.”
