Shervington – Side are moving in right direction

Ed Shervington believes his side are moving in the right direction after an intense pre-season schedule under Director of Rugby Dean Ryan.

The 28-year-old has been handed another starting berth for tomorrow’s trip to Ospreys and says things are starting to come together as the Aviva Premiership season approaches.

“We have new management and a new game plan so we are finding our feet,” he said. “We are going in the right direction.

“It has gone well in the two pre-season games so far and we will want to build on that in Wales.”

Shervington is a product of the Ospreys development system and made 38 appearances for the Welsh region before moving to Sixways in 2010.

And the former Wales Under 21 international admits he is looking forward to returning to the club which launched his career.

He continued: “I played against Ospreys before in the LV= Cup for Worcester and it’s always good.

“I have a lot of friends at the club so it will be nice to return to the Liberty Stadium as I haven’t been back for a few years.

“Every game you go out and do your job as best as you can. Playing against your close mates means you will always have a bit of banter, but you have to realise when to do your job.”

“Jonathan Thomas was there much more recently than me so I’m sure he’s looking forward to it as well. It will be good to see the boys, put a few shots in and hopefully put in a good performance.

“This is our third game and we have covered a lot of detail in the nine weeks of pre-season. Saturday's game is the ideal preparation for the new season.”
