Dean Ryan has paid tribute to the structure at Exeter Chiefs ahead of his side’s trip to Sandy Park on Saturday.
The Devon side won promotion to the Aviva Premiership in 2010 and have since gone from strength-to-strength.
In their first season in the top-flight they battled to an eighth-placed finish and have gone on to secure a Heineken Cup position in their last two seasons.
According to the Worcester Director of Rugby, their success has been down to their set-up.
He said: “The template they’ve built has succeeded. It’s been built from the bottom up and Rob Baxter deserves a lot of credit.
“They came up from the Championship and everyone was asking if they should add more people. Rob said no, and look where they are now. It’s a lesson for all of us.
“You look at their team and you can’t get in it unless you demonstrate core behaviours and values.
“They are the same values we are creating at Worcester but it takes time to change the culture.”
Warriors will arrive at Sandy Park searching for their first win of the campaign against one of the Premiership’s form teams.
And Ryan believes his side need to start showing the passion they displayed for 20 minutes against Sale Sharks last Saturday.
He added: “We know if we show the emotion that we demonstrated for 20 minutes in the second-half against Sale, we can be competitive.
“Some people will talk about settling a side down but I will keep giving opportunities and I won’t settle on 15 players until they are throwing everything at it.
“We saw 30 superb minutes of Agustin Creevy against Sale and he showed that he can change a game.
“And Mariano Galarza scored highest on tackles at the weekend coming into his first full game so I’m really pleased with those aspects.”
