Becasseau – Squad are ready for Premiership return

Frenchman Jeremy Becasseau insists Warriors will be ready for their return to Aviva Premiership action when they face Exeter Chiefs on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Warriors travel to Sandy Park for Round Six of the competition after a two-week break for the Amlin Challenge Cup.

Becasseau said: “Playing in the European competition was an opportunity for us to try and get some form going and against Oyonnax and for the second-half against Sale Sharks, we played some good rugby.

“There are a lot of things we can take from our European performances into the Premiership campaign and I am confident we can get a positive result against Exeter this weekend.”

The Devon outfit have won three of their first five matches in the Aviva Premiership and lie sixth in the table.

And the Warriors loosehead knows they will be a tough nut to crack.

He added: “We have been studying them and they look a difficult side because they can play anywhere on the field.

“When they receive the ball in their 22, they don’t kick. They shift the ball to the wing and run a lot so we will have to be very careful to cut them out.”

Despite a tough start to the campaign, Becasseau is upbeat that Warriors can turn their season around.

He concluded: “When you have built a team and brought in lots of new coaches and players, they are not going to get everything right straight away.

“We are in that category but now we are getting to know each other better, we are all pushing each other in training and things are coming together.

“Hopefully we can reproduce the quality we have shown in training and start to pick-up some results.”
