Stelling named in England Under 20 Six Nations squad

Warriors Academy star Max Stelling has been called up to the England Under 20 Elite Player squad ahead of the upcoming RBS Six Nations.

The 19-year-old centre, who signed a new deal with the club this week, has been named in the 32-man squad after impressing throughout this season.

Stelling was handed his Aviva Premiership debut by Director of Rugby Dean Ryan last November against Northampton Saints and has been an ever-present in the Amlin Challenge Cup and LV= Cup during the 2013/14 campaign.

He scored his first try of the season in Warriors’ LV= Cup victory over Cardiff Blues and he picked up another in Biarritz last month.

Stelling made his Warriors debut last season where he scored an incredible club-record, six-minute hat-trick against Bizkaia Gernika.

The powerful back starts in the backline for Warriors against Sale Sharks on Friday night and will be available for his country in their first match against France Under 20s on Friday 31 January in Paris.

The youngster will be hoping to emulate teammate Ben Howard, who helped England to Six Nations glory last season.
