Dean Ryan believes Warriors can still turn their fortunes around if they claim four points in their next Aviva Premiership match against London Wasps.
Warriors produced one of their finest displays of the season against high-flying Harlequins on Saturday before eventually losing out by a single point at Twickenham Stoop.
And with his side playing some of their best rugby of the season in recent weeks, the Warriors boss says the season is far from over.
He said: “We’ve got to get a win and I don’t care if it’s the ugliest win I’ve ever seen. If we can get four points in our pocket, I think we will get something out of this season.
“Our next game is at Sixways and we’ll see what we can do. We’re fighting like mad and if we can get the win before we go to the North East, we will be confident going into the final games of the season.”
Warriors raced to a 13-0 lead in South West London before being pegged back by Connor O’Shea’s side.
But Ryan admits he was proud of his players’ efforts against the 2012 Premiership champions.
He continued: “I was hoping we could get ourselves back together and get the right response after last weekend. And I’m really proud that we did that – it was a tremendous effort.”
Quins’ Sam Smith, who will join Warriors this summer, dotted down for the hosts to edge his side towards victory at the Stoop.
But Ryan insists the players he is signing will help Warriors become a consistent Aviva Premiership side in the future.
He added: “We’ve only bought people that we’ve done comprehensive due diligence on. The club as a whole going forward is one of massive aspiration and will be full of people who really want to be at the top of their game.
“I’m not worried about players we’ve looked at playing well against us. It just highlights that we’re making sure we get the right people at the club next year.”
