Warriors Under 14s win first ever fixture

Warriors Under 14s had their first ever fixture last Sunday, winning 12-7 against the Independent Schools Barbarians known as The Lambs.

The Lambs can call on the best players from independent schools up and down the country and play regular matches throughout the season.

For many of the Warriors youngsters, they hadn’t played in a game of such intensity and it took 15 minutes for them to adjust to it.

Once Warriors grew in confidence, they fronted up and it was a great contest.

Outreach Academy Coach Chim Gale said: “A lot of credit should go to The Lambs for their breakdown work and handling ability.

“In default conditions, both sides threw everything at each other in attack, trying to run the ball from everywhere but Warriors’ line-speed and counter-rucking was the telling difference between the two sides come the end of the game.

“It is a great start but we have a lot to work on individually and as a group. We need games of that quality to assess ourselves properly.”

Warriors would like to wish The Lambs good luck for the rest of their tour.
