Youngsters taste success at Wellington Festival

Nine Warriors youngsters featured in England sides at last weekend’s BMW Wellington Festival.

Tighthead Joe Morris of King Edward VI Aston, started for England Under 16s who beat Scotland Under 16s 32-22 at Wellington.

Kalius Hutchinson (Coundon Court), Zac Xiourouppa (Ellesmere) and Josh Nott of RGS Worcester all came off the bench to make significant impacts.

Warriors Under 16s number-eight Ben Fowles captained England Saxons to a 10-8 victory over Italy Under 17s ‘A’, and capped the win with a man-of-the-match performance.

Winger Harry Robinson from The Chase School in Malvern, scored a try for the Saxons with Seb Dean-Smith also featuring for the side at loosehead.

Charlie Morgan and Will Butler also represented England Lions Under 16s but ended up on the wrong end of a 19-14 scoreline to England Roses Under 16s.

Outreach Academy Coach Chim Gale said: “All of the boys represented themselves really well.

“It was fantastic to see so many of these youngsters playing at this level and hopefully we can continue their development at Sixways.”
