Warriors announce new Head of Strength & Conditioning

Worcester Warriors have continued to build behind the scenes ahead of the 2014/15 campaign by recruiting Chris Hart as Head of Strength & Conditioning.

Hart arrives at Sixways from Aviva Premiership champions Northampton Saints, where he spent six years as a conditioner, working alongside an array of international talent.

Hart will oversee the Strength & Conditioning department at Sixways, which also welcomes Long-term Athlete Development Coaches Will Whitney, Samuel Coe and Richard Westman.

The appointment highlights Warriors’ long-term ambitions by putting in place a backroom team which can provide players with the level of support necessary to ensure success.

Hart said: “I am delighted to join Warriors and I am looking forward to working with the rest of the backroom team to develop a programme which will help players achieve their athletic potential.

“It is an exciting challenge to be involved in the project here and I will be aiming to implement a programme which will help move the players forward in terms of their athletic development.”

Hart joins Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach Scott Pearson, Strength & Conditioning Coach Ryan Fisher and Sports Scientist Kyle Goggin in the department.

Warriors High Performance Director Nick Johnston said: “It is a testament to the project we have started here that we were able to recruit somebody who was working with last season’s Aviva Premiership winners.

“Chris is very experienced in his area of expertise and will bring an extensive knowledge from his time with Northampton.

“By ensuring we have an effective set-up behind the scenes, we are confident that we will see the results on the pitch when the new season begins.”
