Successful Summer of Touch at Sixways

Worcester Warriors’ Summer of Touch 2014 came to an end last week after a successful eight weeks of action.

With over 280 people across 28 teams taking part this year, Summer of Touch has been bigger and better than ever.

The tournament which has been running since June, began with a seeding week before six weeks of league fixtures where each team played twice per evening.

With four different leagues, 28 teams, six time slots and six pitches – it all managed to run smoothly!

This year’s league winners were as follows:
League 1 – Can’t Teach Touch
League 2 – Pace R Us
League 3 – Easy Tagger
League 4 – Barbarians

The final week of the tournament took the shape of a knockout cup competition. This consisted of one qualifying round, a semi-final and a final.

Some fantastic touch rugby was on display throughout and the following teams ran out as Cup Champions:
No Woman No Try
Dougies Boys
Easy Tagger
CF Cipers

We would like to say a huge thank you to all teams who participated in this year’s tournament and hope to see you back next year.

And a special thank you goes out to all the referees who gave up their time to oversee the matches.
