Bruzulier to captain Cavaliers against Gloucester

Jean-Baptiste Bruzulier will captain a strong Worcester Cavaliers side who take on Gloucester United at Sixways tonight (kick-off 7pm) in the first Aviva A League game of the season.

Academy Manager Mark Hewitt names nine Warriors first-team players in the starting line-up.

The front-row sees summer signing Joe Rees set for his first game for the club at tighthead next to George Porter and Bew Sowrey.

Academy youngster Shay Kerry starts at lock with Darren O’Shea while Huw Taylor is in the back-row alongside Matt Gilbert (trialist) and Richard de Carpentier.

In the backs, Bruzulier starts at scrum-half with Birmingham University student Robbie Keith at stand-off.

A pacey backline includes Andy Symons and Max Stelling in the centre with James Stephenson and Dean Hammond on the wings, while Perry Humphreys is at full-back.

On the bench, Cavaliers have Ofa Fainga’anuku and Alex Gordas, while Academy players George de Cothi, Jack Singleton, Andrew Kitchener and Jon Hughes could all have a chance to impress.
