Ladies move up table after eight-try win at Sixways

Following Warriors’ win over Moseley, Worcester Ladies secured an emphatic 48-12 victory over Aylesford Bulls on the Sixways pitch last Saturday.

The Ladies ran in eight tries and in doing so, propelled them to fifth in the Women's Premiership table.

Aylesford showed their game-plan from the onset, using their heavier pack to good effect at the set piece but  Worcester’s more expansive style quickly overcame the pressure with tries from Ceri Large (two) and Kelly Smith.

Aylesford responded late in the first-half with a try from Sarah Riordan, converted by Taylor Kinsey.

However, the second-half saw the home side drive home their superiority with a further two tries for Large and another for Smith while Bianca Blackburn and Nicola Gross also got on the scoresheet – the latter in her first Premiership start.

Megan Goddard slotted four conversions for the hosts.

Riordon did add a second try for Aylesford but although they worked hard for 80 minutes, they were no match for the home side's skill and fitness.

The Ladies are back in action at top-of-the-table Richmond on Sunday 7 December before second-placed Saracens travel to Worcester on Sunday 14 December.
