Bower expecting physical Moseley test

Loosehead prop Ryan Bower is expecting a physical test for Warriors when they face up to Moseley this Saturday in the Greene King IPA Championship (kick-off 3pm).

Despite Warriors having defeated their local rivals 23-7 in the league as well as recording 39-0 and 31-12 wins in the B&I Cup, Bower insists the Birmingham side will not be underestimated.

He said: “They are very physical and they like to smash the breakdown. They’ll be up for it and it’ll be an up-front battle where they’ve got some big guys that will test us.

“Our previous results against them don’t count for anything so we’ll have to be at our best this weekend if we are to get another win.”

The former Leicester Tigers man is enjoying life since moving to Sixways, having made 12 appearances this term for Warriors and an additional three for Worcester Cavaliers.

But he knows things will start to heat up as the business end of the season approaches.

He added: “It’s great getting game-time every week as I just want to play as much rugby as possible.

“Hopefully I can keep on improving match by match and get us back into the Premiership where we strive to be.

“It’s going to be a big test over the next few months. Bristol are proving week in week out that they know how to win and you’ve got teams like Rotherham and London Scottish performing well.

“Nottingham have been surprising a few teams and could be up there come May.

“It’s really going to be a battle over the next few months but we're all excited and ready for what's ahead.”
