Warriors sign Ospreys flanker Lewis

Worcester Warriors are delighted to announce the signing of Ospreys flanker Sam Lewis, who will join the club with immediate effect.

Lewis has excelled for Ospreys over the last three years and has been a regular for the side in the Guinness PRO 12 and European Champions Cup during the last two campaigns.

The 24-year-old, who is tipped for a big future on the international stage, has made a total of 65 appearances for the Welsh region.

Lewis signed his first professional contract for Ospreys in 2012 after impressing during a spell at Welsh Principality Premiership side Swansea RFC.

The signing is another illustration of Dean Ryan’s intentions to bring talented young players to Sixways in order to establish a successful Premiership side.

Lewis said: “The opportunity to join Warriors at such an exciting time was one that really appealed to me.

“With all the facilities in place and Dean’s vision for the future, I see Sixways as the ideal place for me to develop my game and I’m looking forward to being a part of the journey.”

Director of Rugby Dean Ryan said: “Sam is a player who has experienced the highest level of club rugby from a young age and is now hungry to continue his development within a successful environment.

“We are creating a competitive culture throughout our whole squad and, by integrating players of Sam’s calibre, that will only intensify as time goes on.”
