Hogg – Now is the time to perform

Carl Hogg insists his young Warriors side need to perform in the here and now when Leinster A visit Sixways in the B&I Cup semi-final on Friday night (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Warriors Head Coach has continued to use the current season as a platform to develop young players at Sixways as the club look to build a successful side in the long-term.

But with a place in the B&I Cup final at stake, Hogg admits the focus will be on finding the right result.

He said: “There’s been huge progress over the last seven months but now it’s about performing in the right place at the right time.

“That’s a different challenge to what we’ve had so far as there’s no hiding behind next week. It will be a contest and it will be about small margins.”

Warriors have won all seven of their games in the B&I Cup this season after a string of fine performances in the competition.

And Hogg has paid tribute to the spirit his side have shown.

He continued: “This group has developed a team ethos. That’s a huge credit to them and I’m sure they want to go out and display that on Friday night.

“As the season has developed we’ve tried to bulk bits onto the game and develop individuals within the game and it’s been a success so Friday will be a really good test for us.”

With Sixways set to host Friday night rugby for the first time in 2015, Hogg insists home advantage should not be underestimated.

He added: “Home advantage is huge. It’s significant for a young group to play in front of our supporters at Sixways and I think it will be a good game of rugby.”

Premium seating for Friday’s match is available for just £15 by calling 01905 459309, visiting the Warriors Box Office or clicking here.
