Best man hoping Warriors top off special day

Avid supporter Phil Roe won’t be making it to Castle Park to watch his beloved Warriors in the B&I Cup final this Friday – but has good reason not to.

Phil is set to be best man at the wedding of his pal James Whitehouse and fiancée Naomi Leslie – but is hoping to follow Warriors via SkyGo or Twitter after the ceremony.

He said: “I’m gutted that I’m going to miss the final but I’ve got duties as a best man!

“Jay and I have been best friends for years and I even took him to his first-ever rugby match earlier in the season for Worcester Cavaliers’ Aviva A Leage final – and he loved watching.

“I’m sure he will be a regular with me at Sixways next year!”

Phil, 26, admitted he recently rediscovered his passion for rugby and is loving supporting Warriors this season.

He explained: “I used to follow rugby when I was at school but I lost touch with it in my teen years.

“I rediscovered it as a real passion four years ago and I’ve been coming to games again for the last two years. Now I’ll never stop coming to Sixways!”

And Phil is confident Warriors can bring home the trophy this Friday night.

He explained: “I think it’ll be a close game. Doncaster will be well up for it but we have had an amazing season and our confidence is high.

“Missing out on the A League final will rev-up some of the younger guys and I reckon JB will score the winner!

“It’s a shame to miss a final but thankfully the club provides other ways to keep up to date if supporters can’t be there!”

If like Phil you cannot make the game or watch it on Sky Sports this Friday evening, follow our live Twitter commentary by clicking here.
