Creevy set to return to Argentina

Worcester Warriors can confirm that Agustin Creevy will leave the Club at the end of this season to return to Argentina.

The hooker has signed a contract with the Argentina Rugby Federation and will join the new Argentine province for their inaugural season in Super Rugby.

Creevy, who was named captain of his country in the summer of 2014, scored a try on his Warriors debut in October 2013 and has gone on to appear 23 times for the Club.

Creevy said: “I have immensely enjoyed my time at Sixways and I must say a huge thank you to Dean Ryan and all the backroom staff at the Club for their support.

“It was an extremely tough decision to leave a Club which is progressing so rapidly but I could not turn down the opportunity to return to Argentina ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

“I have witnessed a complete transformation of this Club since I arrived in 2013 and there is no doubt Warriors have a very exciting future.”

Warriors Director of Rugby Dean Ryan said: “Gus’ presence at Sixways during a time of transition has had a significant impact on other members of the squad and his professionalism has been commendable during his time here.

“As Argentina captain, Gus felt the opportunity to return to his home country was one he needed to take and we wish him every success in the future.”
