Mercian in town for Bristol showdown

Warriors’ final Greene King IPA Championship match of the regular season against Bristol Rugby will be followed by a match involving the Mercian Regiment.

1 Mercian will battle it out with 104 Regiment RA (V) on the main stadium pitch as Sixways supporters are given a double helping of April rugby.

We’re set for a day of high drama at Sixways as Warriors face their arch-rivals Bristol in a game which could decide which team finishes the season at the top of the table.

The Mercian encounter, which will showcase the finest armed forces rugby talent in the area, will kick-off 15 minutes after the Warriors match comes to an end.

And there will be plenty of entertainment at the Club as the Mercian will be bringing vehicles, display equipment and their regiment mascot.

Warriors Community Foundation Manager Carol Hart said: “We have extremely strong links with the armed forces at Warriors and we are delighted to be able to support them by hosting a match on the main stadium pitch.

“We’re hoping to see a big crowd for our game against Bristol so hopefully we’ll have plenty of people staying here for a second helping of rugby.”

The day also coincides with an Under 8s Rugby Festival, which Sixways will be hosting ahead of the season finale as the Club look to end the regular season with a bang.

Seated tickets for Warriors’ clash with Bristol start from just £20 and are available now by calling 01905 459309,
