Seven changes for Warriors ahead of semi-final showdown

Warriors have made seven changes ahead of their Greene King IPA Championship play-off semi-final second leg against London Scottish at Sixways this Friday night (kick-off 7.45pm).

Dean Ryan’s men have a five-point cushion going into the clash after last weekend’s 27-22 win in Richmond.

The backline sees a first Championship start of the season for scrum-half JB Bruzulier who deputises for the injured Charlie Mulchrone and suspended Jonny Arr.

Winger Dean Hammond is poised for his first Championship appearance since scoring in February’s win over Rotherham Titans while Ben Howard, Alex Grove, Ryan Mills and Ryan Lamb keep their places in the backs.

Prolific winger Cooper Vuna also starts and will be looking to build on his tryscoring tally which has seen him score seven times in just six appearances.

In the front-row, the bulky Val Rapava Ruskin and Argentina captain Agustin Creevy return to partner tighthead Nick Schonert, while the experience of James Percival and Jonathan Thomas are given the nod in the second-row.

Versatile forward Mike Williams switches to the back-row while recent signing Sam Lewis starts at openside next to skipper GJ van Velze.

Director of Rugby Ryan said: “We're happy with the way we're playing but we'll make a few changes to certain things, and we're confident of performing well at home.

“The first game showed some areas where we're very good but also where we need to improve so we'll shore up a few things.

“We've got a lead but we've got to perform and get ourselves into the final.

“This is a test of the squad. We've always known that and it's important that everyone knows the system and that we have players who can come in.”
