Warriors to kick-off Aviva Premiership season on BT Sport

Warriors will launch the 2015/16 Aviva Premiership campaign when they host Northampton Saints on Friday 16 October in front of the BT Sport cameras.

Dean Ryan’s men will be looking to start the season with a bang and the opening game will be an even more mouth-watering prospect with former Northampton duo GJ van Velze and Phil Dowson likely to line-up for the hosts.

Warriors will travel to Sale Sharks and Gloucester Rugby in the opening month of the season before Newcastle Falcons visit Sixways on the first weekend in November.

With Warriors looking to compete with the best teams in the country on their return to the top-flight, the Club have secured a massive coup as they will then travel to Twickenham at the end of November to face reigning champions Saracens in the London Double Header.

December looks like a tough month for Warriors with huge matches against Leicester Tigers and Bath Rugby on the cards before we open 2016 with a home clash with Harlequins.

Warriors will then face their first trip to the Ricoh Arena on Sunday 10 January for a first-ever West Midlands derby with Wasps before Exeter Chiefs travel to Sixways.

They’ll be another Sunday encounter for Warriors with a trip to London Irish on the cards before return matches against Bath Rugby, Sale Sharks and Northampton Saints complete the February line-up.

With the Rugby World Cup delaying the start of the Aviva Premiership season, the games continue to come thick and fast in the spring as Warriors travel to Newcastle Falcons on the opening Friday of March before hosting local rivals Gloucester Rugby for the second time of the season one weekend later.

A London-themed March sees a trip to Harlequins before a visit of London Irish as Warriors prepare for a tough season climax.

Warriors host Wasps in between tricky away matches at Exeter Chiefs and Leicester Tigers before the season ends at Sixways with a clash against Saracens on Saturday 7 May.

Warriors Chief Executive Jim O’Toole said: “We are all very excited about our return to the Aviva Premiership and to open the season at home in front of the BT Sport cameras against a side of the calibre of Northampton Saints is what winning promotion back to this league is all about.

“Every game will be tough and this season we will be relying on our supporters to be our 16th man more than ever as we look to establish ourselves as a Premiership Club.”
