Cavaliers begin Aviva A League campaign against Sale

Worcester Cavaliers will begin their Aviva A League campaign on Monday 23 November as they entertain Sale Jets at Sixways.

Cavaliers narrowly missed out on being crowned champions last season after going down to a strong Saracens Storm side in front of a bumper 4000 attendance in Worcester.

And the young side will be looking to go one step further when the season gets underway later this year.
Cavaliers face a long trip to Newcastle Falcons on Monday 30 November before a derby against Gloucester United four days before Christmas.

Round 4 sees a trip to Northampton Wanderers on the first Monday of 2016 before the group stages conclude with the visit of Leicester Tigers.

With the Rugby World Cup taking place across the start of the new season, the Aviva A League campaign will follow a new schedule, meaning the semi-final will take place on Monday 25 April before the final one week later.

Warriors Academy Manager Mark Hewitt said: “We enjoyed a very strong Aviva A League campaign last season and our young squad overcame experienced opposition throughout to reach the final.

“The competition enabled us to develop our younger players, some of whom went on to help the first-team win the Greene King IPA Championship play-off final.

“We are all looking forward to this season’s competition, where we will again be providing opportunities for the next generation of first-team players.”
