Warriors AASE defeat Northampton

Warriors AASE side Worcester Sixth Form College made it two wins in two weeks after securing a 38-24 win over Moulton College of Northampton last Wednesday.

The youngsters got off to a flying start and took a 21-0 lead before the visitors bounced back to make it 21-10 at the break.

But Worcester began the second period in similar fashion to the first by adding two more tries to put Moulton to the sword.

Stan Mayne picked up a brace of tries while Kai Owen, Ted Hill and Isaac Blake-Mills also got on the scoresheet.

Fly-half Sam Hollingsworth also bagged a try while adding four conversions.

The College outfit face a long trip up to Newcastle’s Kingston Park this Wednesday to take on the Falcons’ AASE side, Gosforth Academy (kick-off 4pm).

A win for Worcester would see them finish the group stages in third position and qualify for the top tier of the play-offs.

AASE Manager Ryan Watkins said: “The boys are playing some great rugby at the minute and are doing everything they can to be ready for this Wednesday’s clash.

“We will be making the long trip north to try and pick up that result to get us into the play-offs and everyone’s really excited about the game.”
