Ryan looking to make the most of Sixways advantage

Worcester Warriors Director of Rugby Dean Ryan says it’s good to be home as his side return to Sixways to face Newcastle Falcons this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Warriors ran Sale close and picked up a bonus point against Gloucester in consecutive away matches but now the boss hopes to get back to winning ways.

He said: “We’re putting big store on the home games. We proved we can compete and now we have to prove we can win games.

“We’re pretty excited about being back at home after a good win here against Northampton Saints. We’re expecting everybody to come out and get behind us.”

Warriors lost hooker Dan George through injury against Gloucester and Ryan is planning to hand a debut to new signing Jaba Bregvadze.

He continued: “With George out we’re more likely to see Bregvadze involved this weekend.

“Jaba’s a big strong man with a competent set-piece and he’s an experienced Georgian international. It’s just a matter of him getting used to our systems.”

Ryan could also give a debut to New Zealand winger Bryce Heem who arrived from a successful spell with Auckland Rugby.

The former All Blacks Sevens star scored five tries as his side reached the final of the ITM Cup and Ryan says he will be a welcome addition to the Warriors back-line.

He added: “We’ve seen what he can do in the ITM Cup and Super Rugby so we want to bed him in and get him doing the same for us.

“Bryce has trained with the team all week and we need his quality in the side so you can expect to see him in and around the squad this week for sure.”

Seated tickets for the match start from just £24, while junior tickets are priced from £12 and can be purchased in advance by clicking here, visiting the Warriors Ticket Office or calling 01905 459309. Tickets are also available at the gate.
