Cox voted December Player of the Month

Warriors back row Matt Cox has won the Franco Florenzi Player of the Month competition for December after an extremely tight vote!

As picked by you the supporters, Cox enjoyed 17 per cent of the votes, edging out full-back Ben Howard in second place (16%) and the giant Tevita Cavubati in third (15%).

All-action back-row Cox, who’s in his second spell at Sixways, bagged his first try since returning to the Club in December’s clash with Leicester Tigers, as he showed his brute strength to power over the line.

The 27-year-old also put in a big display against Gloucester Rugby in the European Challenge Cup and helped Warriors earn a valuable bonus point at The Rec as Dean Ryan’s men pushed Bath to the brink at the end of the year in the league.

The flanker picks up a spanking new trophy for his performances as well as a new watch courtesy of our sponsor Franco Florenzi.

Also among the votes was last month’s winner Bryce Heem (9%), with Cooper Vuna, Sam Betty (8%) and Phil Dowson, Chris Pennell and Darren Barry also chipping in (6%).

Who will be up for the January honour after our clashes with Harlequins, Wasps, Zebre, La Rochelle and Exeter Chiefs?!

Make sure you register your vote when the competition opens on Monday 1 February!
