Warriors sign Bath lock Spencer

Warriors have captured the signing of talented Bath Rugby lock Will Spencer, who will join the Club ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The giant forward, who stands at a menacing 6ft 7in, will provide Warriors with further competition in the second row.

Spencer, 23, joined the Bath Academy in 2010 before making the transition to the first-team in 2014, where he has gone on to make 11 appearances.

The Hampshire-born forward also spent a season on loan at London Welsh where he played a part in their 2013/14 Championship-winning campaign.

Warriors Director of Rugby Dean Ryan said: “Will is a hungry young second rower who will add vital competition to the pack.

“Having worked alongside some of the Premiership’s top players, he already has some great experience and we’re looking forward to helping him try to realise his potential here at Sixways.”

Spencer added: “From speaking to Dean Ryan and former colleague Tom Heathcote, Worcester feels like the right place for me to further my career over the next few seasons.

“There is a great young squad at the Club and hopefully over time we can achieve our goals and become a top Premiership side.”
